DES 120

Crucial to a designer is the ability to make informed, deliberate, and appropriate visual decisions. Through the DES120 class, also known as “2D Form Studio” students develop a keen sense of what to do with the most simple and basic design elements, establishing the foundation for visual decisions design students will make both in their upper-level coursework and in their careers as professional designers.

DES 140

Student introduction to the fundamentals of drawing in the context of studying and creating designs. Students learn how to draw one, two, and three-point perspective for objects and environments, as well as how to apply light and shadow to their compositions.

DES 160

Introduction to photography used in the context of design studies. Familiarity with the camera, studio, digital techniques and software programs in the contacts of observation, composition, and meaning.
